The big cat paces

Heavy footfalls

That cause the groaning of the earth

 

The big cat looks

doesn’t see the cage

just the way the he’ll be free

 

The big cat is hungry

But not worried

The big cat gets fed

 

The big cat is no panther

he has no patience for stealth

he wants he presence felt

 

The big cat is planning

he hates  the easy game

he moves with bigger purpose

 

The big cat knows

They are out there

He doesn’t care who, just how, when

 

The big cat moves in circles

Time is running out
