Nitrogen Sea

Not scuttling,

but purposeless drifting

life at the bottom.

Oblivious to pressure, ignorant of the sky. .

Befouling the water,  eating, spawning

Reacting to sensation

heads lifting heavy in the weight

movement but not intention.

The intricate meshing of shells

cool, brecciate,

wrought of creation unconsidered.

Safe, placid.

Until indifferent violence

stop the images

floating by.
